Virtuoso del Futuro Orchestra

Today you may already write the name of the orchestra in present tense!

There are twenty two 12-18-year-old teenagers in the group playing violin, viola or cello. They study in Käpylä music institute and few of them have already continued their studies in Sibelius Academy.
Besides a regular week rehearsal Virtuosi del Futuro has special rehearsals over the weekend once a while. In recent years the orchestra has also given concerts abroad and had some international co-operation. In 2009 the orchestra recorded a CD with Johanna Rusanen, the Finnish opera singer.

The repertory of the orchestra is very colourful: from folk music to classic, sometimes tasting even rock and jazz. A many-sided and brave repertory gives the orchestra a fascinating sound and pure joy of making music.
The conductor of the orchestra has been Ahti Valtonen from the very beginning.
He is a conductor and the master of violin in Käpylä music institute. He has visited conservatories and music institutes as a pedagogue and a conductor. He has experience of many music courses in summertime when conducting youth orchestras around Finland. Many young violinists from his class have decided to carry on as a professional musician.
