Nato a Ottawa nel 1986 Thierry Tidrow è un compositore canadese. Ha iniziato i suoi studi musicali studiando canto al St-Matthew’s Men and Boys choir e al Centre d’Excellence Artistique at De La Salle High School dove ha ottenuto il premio come miglior diplomato nel 2004. Nel 2009 si è laureato in composizione alla McGill University studiando con Brian Cherney, Christoph Neidhöfer e Jean Lesage. La sua musica è stata suonata dal McGill’s Contemporary Music Ensemble, dal New York Miniature Ensemble (NYME), the Ereprijs Orkest e dal Chiara String Quartet, che ha portato in tournèe il suo quartetto negli Stati Uniti.
Dal Settembre 2009 prosegue i suoi studi con  Richard Ayres e Willem Jeths al Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Dal suo arrivo in Olanda Thierry ha collaborato with il  F.C. Jongbloed  del Conservatorio di Tilburg, Ereprijs Orkest e musicisti del Nieuw Ensemble. Il suo It had something to do with the telling of time…(2010) è stata nominata per la Gaudeamus Music Week 2011 e con Silk Hole (2011) ha ottenuto una commissione per l’Internationale Stichting Masterclass Apeldoorn al Young Composers’ Meeting 2011. Progetti futuri includono un pezzo per l’Asko-Schönberg Ensemble ad aprile 2011 e un’opera che verrà presentata nel 2012 dalla Dutch National Opera Academy (DNOA).

Born in Ottawa in 1986, Canadian composer Thierry Tidrow began his musical training in the St-Matthew’s Men and Boys choir and at the Centre d’Excellence Artistique at De La Salle High School in vocal performance, where he obtained the first prize scholarship for graduating students in 2004. In 2009, he obtained his Bachelor of Music degrees in honours composition and theory at McGill University. Thierry’s composition teachers have included Brian Cherney, Christoph Neidhöfer and Jean Lesage and his music has been performed by McGill’s Contemporary Music Ensemble, the New York Miniature Ensemble (NYME), the Ereprijs Orkest as well as the Chiara String Quartet, who have toured his String Quartet in the United States.

As of September 2009, he is pursuing his masters at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the guidance of Richard Ayres and Willem Jeths. Since his arrival in the Netherlands, Thierry has collaborated with the Tilburg conservatory’s F.C. Jongbloed, Apeldoorn’s Ereprijs Orkest and members from the Nieuw Ensemble. His piece It had something to do with the telling of time…(2010) has been nominated for the Gaudeamus Music Week of 2011 and his piece Silk Hole (2011), was awarded a commission for the Internationale Stichting Masterclass Apeldoorn at the Ereprijs Orkest’s Young Composers’ Meeting 2011.
